Apple has just unveiled its new generation of iPhones, and this year marks a real turning point for the brand. On the agenda: the iPhone 18 Pro et 18 Pro Max, but above all the brand-new iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
An important point to note: The standard iPhone 18 has not yet been unveiled. So far, Apple has only unveiled the Pro and Pro Max models, as well as its new foldable model.
This is undoubtedly the big news of this generation. After years of rumours, Apple is finally entering the world of foldable smartphones with theiPhone Duo.
Its design is reminiscent of a small book. When closed, it has an external screen measuring 5.4 inches. Once opened, it reveals a large internal screen measuring 7.6 inches, ideal for watching videos, playing games, working or using several apps at the same time.
Apple has also adapted iOS to this new format to make the most of the large screen and multitasking. The iPhone Duo features the new A20 Pro chip, features two ProMotion displays and can reach up to 2 TB of storage.
With its titanium design and a hinge specially designed for repeated opening and closing, Apple aims to offer a foldable device whilst retaining the premium iPhone experience.
Apple has also unveiled the new iPhone 18 Pro et 18 Pro Max.
Both models feature the new A20 Pro chip, designed to improve performance, artificial intelligence and thermal management. A new cooling system also helps maintain better performance during intensive use.
The iPhone 18 Pro retains a screen of 6.3 inches, whilst the 18 Pro Max features a screen measuring 6.9 inches. The Max model also boasts the longest battery life in the range.
Photography is one of the key new features of the iPhone 18 Pro.
Apple introduces a new main camera 48 MP fusion with variable aperture. Unlike the iPhone 17 Pro, this aperture can adapt to shooting conditions to better manage light and offer greater control over photos and videos.
This new feature is particularly appealing to people who use their iPhone for photography, portraits or content creation.
Battery life is also improving. The iPhone 18 Pro can last up to 36 hours of video playback, whilst the 18 Pro Max offers even longer battery life. Apple claims up to 6 hours’ overtime Video playback on the 18 Pro Max compared to the 17 Pro Max.
Wired charging is also faster, allowing you to quickly top up your battery when time is short.
For those who already own an iPhone 17 Pro, upgrading isn’t essential, but there are several improvements worth noting.
